Race Schedule

The GISC Club Series is held in the spring and fall of each year, with racing taking place in the St. Simons Sound and Channel. There are several classes, Cruising A, Cruising B and Newcomers. Trophies in all classes are awarded at the end of the year. The Club also participates annually in two offshore races, the Coastal Cup Race and the GA-FL Ocean Challenge.

The Coastal Cup Race is a fundraiser for the Golden Isles Community Sailing Center and is usually scheduled in May of each year. Traditionally, GISC boats have competed against Amelia Island Sailing Club boats, but the race is actually open to any properly outfitted sailing vessel, and individual trophies are awarded. The race starts in the St. Marys Channel at the end of the jetties and finishes in the St. Simons Channel, and the awards ceremony is at Golden Isles Marina.

The GA-FL Ocean Challenge Race is hosted by the Amelia Island Sailing Club in the fall of each year. This race pits GISC against the AISC in a club versus club team event. You can take individual honors, while helping GISC vanquish the AISC. The race begins in the St. Simons Channel and ends in the St. Marys River Entrance. An awards ceremony in Fernandina follows the race. Start time and race details are set at the skippers' meeting the evening before at Golden Isles Marina.

The race schedule, NOR's, and online registration are all available in the Event Calendar.
